Athletes, clad in jerseys representing teams from the Mets to the Yankees, came to Citi Field to participate in the 12th annual Major League Wheelchair Softball Tournament. But instead of playing on the Mets’ home field, these athletes took their brand of ball to a wheelchair friendly diamond set up in the Queens stadium’s parking lot. The event, sponsored by the Mets, Major League Baseball, the city Parks Department and the Wheelchair Sports Federation, drew players and fans alike.
