Manhattan —

Surrounded by bike lanes and pedestrian paths, 100 people pedaled stationary bikes in Times Square to raise money to battle rare cancers.

Stationary bikes put everyone on an equal level, noted organizers of the Cycle for Survival fundraiser, whose participants included cancer patients and survivors.
Each rare cancer affects as many as 200,000 people. But together, rare cancers affect more than half of all cancer patients in the United States.
