Federal employees on furlough in New York City don’t need to worry about going hungry: Cochinita Tacos in Clinton Hill is giving free burritos to furloughed workers for the duration of the government shutdown.

When the federal government closed on October 1, because of congressional arguments over the budget, Cochinita tweeted: “FREE BURRITO for FEDERAL EMPLOYEES! We support you!” Since then, Cochinita has given free burritos to any customer who comes in and shows their federal ID, and will continue to do so until the shutdown ends, according to the restaurant’s owners.
