When Roberto Esquivelzeta was a pilot in Mexico, he could feel the connection between singing and soaring through the sky.

Now the tenor in is New York, where he’s forged a new link between transportation and his beloved opera: He practices in city subway stations.

Esquivelzeta earns some money to supplement his new day job working in a pharmacy. But as he dreams of one day singing at the Met and Carnegie Hall, Esquivelzeta finds his greatest reward in seeing the reactions of people touched by his voice.
