Bronx —

Scores of people patiently waited for two hours as they lined up to get one of the frozen turkeys handed out Friday by a local lawmaker.

Some 100 birds, donated Foodtown, MetroPlus and Local 46, went quickly as City Councilmember Andy King (D-Bronx) and his team distributed them outside 940 East Gunhill Road.

King called his annual turkey giveaway a way to serve the needy of his community and work in the spirit of the holiday season. “You’ve got to give of yourself,” he said.
