BROOKLYN —

Darma Diaz won the latest battle for Brooklyn’s 37th City Council District.

Yet her hold on the position will be tested quite soon.

The Democrat was elected last month to represent East New York, Bushwick, Brownsville and Cypress Hills, filling the seat vacated by Rafael Espinal last January. She ran unopposed after four challengers were knocked off the ballot on technicalities.

Diaz will face three of them—Sandy Nurse, Rick Echevarria, Misba Abdin—again in a June Democratic primary.
