Concerns about the deadly flooding that accompanied the remnants of Hurricane Ida dominated a town hall meeting organized by Borough President Donovan Richards in Astoria.

“We learned you do not need to live in a flood zone in order for your house to flood,” Richards said.

A Federal Emergency Management Agency representative was among the officials who addressed questions from residents. New Yorkers can seek aid on the organization’s website or go to FEMA’s disaster recovery center at Queens College.
