Small businesses, already bruised by the drop in walk-in customers during the pandemic, are getting walloped by the dreaded supply-chain crisis.

Hair salons and beauty-supply shops have been especially hard hit—China has been reluctant to accept imports from places like India and parts of Southeast Asia, major sources of the natural hair used to make wigs and extensions in China. That’s slowed exports to the U.S.
