Thanksgiving is just around the corner. That means family, fun – and a whole lot of food.

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, yams, cranberry sauce and gravy are all staples of the holiday meal. But with all the delicious dishes come the not-so-delightful extra calories.

There are ways to find some healthier alternatives, including changing some of traditional recipes to include more nutritious ingredients like kale or quinoa. Whole Foods is one of the stores in the city offering leaner and greener Thanksgiving options through its Health Starts Here Initiative.
