Manhattan —
The United Nations estimates as many as 88 million girls around the world miss out on school because of  work. As part of United Nations campaign to promote education for young women, “Slumdog Millionaire” actress Frieda Pinto helped girls from Egypt, Nepal, Burkina Faso and the U.S. to “erase” an a billboard-sized image of girls toiling in factories – and reveal a more positive image of girls in school. The event was held at UN Plaza and hosted by UNICEF and Plan International, the oldest children’s development organization in the world.
