Manhattan —

Child obesity has more than doubled in children in the past 30 years, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Nearly one out of every five children in the U.S. is obese.

The Children’s Museum of Manhattan, in partnership with the National Institutes of Health, announced that its pilot program used to promote healthy living would be made available for nationwide use. The EatPlayGrow curriculum, which has been used in New York homes and Headstart programs since 2009, is filled with activities to get children burning calories and learning about the benefits of healthy eating.
