Rep. Max Rose, only the second Democrat to win the House seat representing the borough in the past 38 years, is facing a tough re-election effort as his challenger Nicole Malliotakis aims tie him to the left.
The Republican assemblywoman is claiming Rose marched in solidarity with protesters demanding cuts to Police Department funding in June.
But event organizers say that was definitely not the message most marchers were sending.
Staten Island's youth are leading an incredibly powerful, peaceful movement for justice in honor of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so many Black lives that have been lost due to senseless acts of violence.
