BROOKLYN —

New York City is home to more than 350 North American bird species, many of which migrate south in winter to escape the city’s harsh weather  and limited food sources.

In late March, migrant species make their way back here, where curious onlookers and avid bird-watchers observe their arrival.

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Bird Walk group, lead by Heather Wolf, unites for sights of this natural phenomenon in a waterfront spot that is especially welcoming to these returning birds.
