Manhattan —

The 97th Veterans Day Parade  in New York went off seamlessly as thousands lined Fifth Avenue on a brisk fall day to shine a spotlight on America’s courageous.

While the parade marked a celebration of those who fought hard to keep the country safe, it presented an opportunity to address veteran concerns – including the needs for better healthcare, increased PSTD treatment and more jobs.

Mayor de Blasio, speaking at the parade’s opening ceremony,  called on business owners and companies to hire more veterans “do something for their country.”
