Manhattan —

For the past four years,  the James L. Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act has provided medical services for Ground Zero workers suffering from illnesses and injuries stemming from the terror attacks. Now, the availability of that help has been threatened by the measure’s Sept. 30 expiration.

Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan, Bronx, Queens) and Jerry Nadler (D-Manhattan, Brooklyn) and others are pushing to reauthorize the act, named after a first responder who died from a respiratory disease he contracted while working at Ground Zero.
