Queens —
Queens may be the biggest borough — but when it comes to funding for dancers, it’s nowhere close to Manhattan, performers say.
More than two dozen dance companies from all over the borough hit the stage for the Queensboro Dance Festival last month, bringing a global diversity of styles.
But the borough’s dancers say they still struggle to find access to the same level of funding as their Manhattan counterparts — and often have to travel far distances to find rehearsal space and other requirements to practice their craft.
