BROOKLYN —

The Lesbian Herstory Archives building in Park Slope has received New York City landmark status, marking the first such recognition for an LGBTQ site in the borough.

Founded in 1974, the archives is the nation’s oldest and largest collection of lesbian historical materials—all donated by the community.

Hear volunteers and interns talk about why they have spent years dedicating themselves to preserving this history.
