Brooklyn —
Mayer Friedman wants to help educate people on Hasidic life.
Friedman, a member of the Lubavitch Hasidic community, an orthodox Jewish community in Crown Heights, is among a group called “Jewish Brooklyn” that takes visitors on walking tours of the neighborhood. Their goal in welcoming strangers into local homes and businesses is to shed some light on their day-to-day experiences — and build a sense of shared humanity.
